Since 2011, medical students from Western University's College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest have been coming to Oregon Family Health for a 4-week-long externship. Under the supervision of Drs. Peffley and Lucas, these 3rd and 4th year medical students see patients in clinic. This allows for the development of basic medical knowledge and honing of practical skills in a rural family medicine practice setting. In addition to these students, both physicians have accepted requests from Dallas High School students who are considering medicine as a career. These students come to spend anywhere from 4 to 20 hours with us for their "Career's Class" project.
